Step-by-Step Instructions: Viewing and Editing MetaData
Now that you have MetaData defined, you may find that you need to edit or even delete fields. No problem! MetaData is a flexible solution which means you may change it as often as you like. Let's Get Started:
Viewing MetaData
1. Login to your account.
2. Click the folder with the MetaData you wish to view. then click the MetaData button in the toolbar.
3. Click the MetaData Spreadsheet button.
4. The MetaData spreadsheet will display where you can modify, export, or download the data.
Editing MetaData
1. Login to your account.
2. Click on the folder with the MetaData that needs to be changed, then click the MetaData button in the toolbar.
3. The MetaData form with the fields you add will display. Click the Define MetaData Fields button.
4. The Define MetaData screen will display. Click the field that you'd like to edit, then select the appropriate action, including:
Reorder Fields: Change the order of displayed fields to create the right sequence for your custom form by using the blue arrows to the right of the list.
Edit Fields: Click the field in the bottom window to select, then click the edit button. You will be able to edit the field properties in the upper window.
Copy Fields: Click the field in the bottom window to select, then click copy. This creates an identical copy of the field properties. Enter the field name in the upper window and click save.
New Fields: Selecting the New button allows you to add new fields to your MetaData form.
Delete Fields: Click the field in the bottom window to select, then click Delete. The field will be deleted from your form. Delete all fields to remove MetaData entirely.
Note: You may only be able to edit certain features of MetaData fields, such as the name, character length, requiring user input, or unique value. If you are not allowed to make the changes you wish to make, please delete the field and then create a new one.
